Challenge

The company had grown to twenty-two staff but planning remained entirely in the founder's head. Quarterly targets were set verbally and rarely reviewed. Staff were unclear about which work was most important at any given time.

Approach

A three-month Quarterly Cadence engagement beginning with a half-day planning offsite. A written quarterly plan was produced within the first two weeks. Six fortnightly check-ins kept the priorities visible to the management team throughout the quarter.

Outcome

Four of five priority initiatives were completed within the quarter — a meaningful change from the previous six months. The closing review identified two structural questions to carry into the next planning cycle. The company has since commissioned a second quarterly programme.

Challenge

An eight-year-old professional services practice with two founding partners and forty staff. One partner wanted to step back from day-to-day operations; the transition had been discussed for two years without a plan in place to make it happen.

Approach

An annual partnership engagement with a strategy offsite focused on leadership transition planning. Quarterly review sessions tracked progress. Board-style briefs after each review gave both partners a shared written reference for decisions made and actions pending.

Outcome

By the end of the twelve-month engagement, the operating partner had assumed full day-to-day responsibility for three of five practice areas. The transition was documented, staged, and carried out without disruption to client relationships. The founding partner has retained a part-time strategic role.
